I, Venkata Nagaraj Kakaraparthi completed my Masters in Physiotherapy, Specialization in Musculoskeletal & Sports in 2004. After completion I started my career by working as a Physiotherapist in SIMS Group of Institutions in India. I started to learn more about advance techniques in physiotherapy and to improve the career options available to me in future. I attended various workshops, CME’s to update my knowledge and skills. After working for18 months in that place, I got an opportunity to work as a Senior Physiotherapist & Asst. Professor in a Durgabai deshmukh hospital, College of Physiotherapy and Research center. . Whilst there I was fortunate enough to receive good advice, support and encouragement from my senior colleagues who explained me the broad range of areas that physiotherapists can do extensive research by using equipment like F-scan analysis, EMG Biofeed back, Advanced therapeutic Laser therapy application. From 2006-2009 I also assisted junior physiotherapists, therapy assistants in their daily duties. During this period I also conducted various workshops and seminars in India. In 2009, I got an opportunity to work in London, United Kingdom as a Senior Specialized Physiotherapist. It provided me unique environment to work alongside professionals and to gain a real understanding of what the job entails. It was an ideal opportunity for me to appreciate the contribution of different professions make to healthcare and to see the latest teaching methods, clinical equipment and technology in practice. I attended Information governance and Security Training, Medicines Management, Incident report training, Infection control, Moving and Handling, Annual Fire and Safety Training, Intermediate First Aid Course on Basic Life Support, POVA and POCA Training in London from 2009-2011. From 2012 to till date , I am working as a Lecturer in College of Applied Medical Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences department, King Khalid University. During this period I participated in research work and published so many research papers. I also participated in various community based rehabilitation services in rural areas in Saudi Arabia.
