I received my Doctorate (EdD) in TESOL from the University of Exeter, UK. I have also earned two MA degrees; one in TESOL from Sheffield Hallam University, UK and the other in English Literature and Linguistics from NUML, Pakistan. In addition, I have achieved key professional certifications such as CELTA from South Thames College, London, and Cambridge Train the Trainer certificate from the University of Cambridge, UK.
In my 13 years of professional odyssey, I have completed numerous educational courses and attended a good deal of workshops for further professional growth as a teacher, teacher trainer and researcher. I was among the top-ranking teachers of the English Language Institute (ELI) at King Abdul-Aziz University, Saudi Arabia. Considering my academic research skills and training, I worked as a coordinator of the Research Unit at the English Language Institute. Currently, I work as assistant professor in the faculty of languages and translation at King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia. I have published on various issues in the field of TESOL, such as teaching pronunciation, teacher development, teacher evaluation, educational leadership and management, and EFL textbooks.
Apart from my responsibilities as a research coordinator at KAU, I taught ESP students at the faculty of engineering and foundation year students at the ELI. In addition, I taught research methodologies to MA TESOL and Ph.D. students and supervised their dissertations at KAU. I also helped postgraduate students with publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals. Among other responsibilities, I worked for the joint supervision programme at KAU and gave workshops on research methods and counseled Ph.D. students on their research projects. Moreover, as a research analyst, I remained part of the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Moderation Centre KAU for a year. As a certified teacher trainer by Cambridge University Press, I conducted numerous teacher training workshops on various contemporary aspects of instructional practices. In my current role, I teach linguistics courses, academic writing and research methods to undergraduate and graduate students. I also work with the research centre as a member of the editorial board and conference committee at the Faculty of Languages & Translation, King Khalid University, Abha.
