ملخص: In this work, we tried to study solar radiation with both geometric and energy aspects. The geometrical aspect concerns the movement of the earth; the movement of rotation about the polar axis and the translational movement around the sun. These two movements allow the earth continually receive solar energy at each point throughout the year. This energy varies during the day and during the year; it is influenced by the position of the sun in the sky that varies throughout the day from sunrise to sunset and during the year with the seasons. The study of the energy aspect of the solar radiation is characterized by modeling the incident solar flux. It has been estimated the radiant solar energy to a specific day of the year and weather conditions. This work was devoted to the application of Eufrat model of solar radiation for the region of Abha (18.22° latitude, 42.48° longitude). The evolution of the global radiation on a horizontal and inclined plane was represented for the typical days of the year. We tried to identify the angle of monthly and seasonal optimum inclination which provides the maximum energy for this region. One idea is given on the use of tracking systems that allow the improvement of the production of solar installations up to 29 % compared to horizontal fixed installations.
